I don’t know why I might have thought serializing Tired would be easier than writing a short story from scratch. I really don’t. Experience should have taught me this.
In any case, I’ve decided to break Tired into 3 books, the first one being free, and the second two going for at least $1.99 each, and actually only being available for pre-sale after volume I comes out, just to tease you.
What is making this difficult? I can never leave my stories alone when I start to review them. I always restart editing them in full.
Spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned.
As I was getting ready to cut the original book into three parts, I started to read it. When I got to the group’s first trip to The Sausage Mill, I found the transition from women on the town to badly behaved women on the town to be awfully sudden, and rather jarring. I’ve already started adding paragraphs to that section. I’m certain I’ll do the same for Kristy and Corrina’s first date with a stranger, and other parts of the book as well.
So this is starting to look like a sort of “Tired-The Directors Cut” if you will.
I am getting to work on it slowly. Don’t be surprised if I manage to get it done some time in November, but also don’t be surprised if it’s my first publication of 2018.
Wish us all luck!
