Thoughts about where I’m going as an author in the near future.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately (We know! You won’t shut up about it!) about my writing and getting it out there. (See?!? See?!? Not shutting up!) After a quick Facebook message with another author (thanks Barbara!) I’ve decided to do a couple of things I wasn’t originally going to do.

The most important one is that I’m going to make more use of my backlog, the old stories and ideas from Pixie’s Place. As a result, my planned publication order this year is likely to change. Originally, I was going to publish Raven and June, then Tired, then Seams, then maybe the first of my erotic horror novels. My current plan is to put out a rewritten short story from Pixie’s between each of those.

And there’s an angle I’m going to put on this for you. For the first couple of these short stories, I’m going to include a coupon for a free copy of the book from Smashwords in my email newsletter, as well as a notice in the book that I do that. I’ll probably do it as an automatic gift for signing up for the newsletter for one of them in the future–just as soon as I figure out how to do that.

The other thing I’m seriously considering doing is moving into the less vanilla side of erotica writing, and I’m not talking about my erotic horror trilogy here. The story Waking Sleeping Beauty started out as an incest story. I took out any references to that in an attempt to make it more mainstream, so as not to outrage possible readers.

Yeah, I’ve never watched Game of Thrones, so I didn’t realize that other people’s incest isn’t that outrageous anymore, just taboo.

While this possibly means that I’ll republish Waking Sleeping Beauty in it’s original form under a different title. This also means I may publish the prequel story I came up with. That story is much longer, full novel. At least it will be when it’s written. I have the entire story in my head, and have had for some time (years.)

That’s it for today. If you have anything you want to talk about, feel free to comment below!
